The Third Vatican Deal with the Devil

“Man’s schemes are inferior to those made by heaven.” ~Chinese Proverb

No one rains on Chairman’s Xi Jinping’s reign. On October 22, 2022, at the CCP 20th Party Congress, Chinese President Xi Jinping was elected to another term, adding another five years to his previously served 10 year presidency.  Xi will remain in the politically powerful position as General Secretary of the CCP. His stated goal of Emperor for Life is now firmly established, unimpeded by a certain human rights trial in Hong Kong.

Surely, the looming show trial of the revered and respected 90 year old Hong Kong Cardinal Joseph Zen might tamper enthusiasm for the upcoming Xi Jinping historic re-election at the CCP’s 20th National Party Congress. As the master strategist, Xi insured that no negative publicity surrounding the show trial of the Cardinal Zen, would complicate his historic re-election.

So suddenly, on September 28, after two days into the five day trial, Magistrate Ada Yim suddenly adjourned the Zen Hong Kong trial, postponing it until October 26. The Zen criminal trial will conveniently resume 4 days after President Xi’s historic election at the CCP 20th National Party Congress.

With CCP efficiency, the Emperor for Life is now installed, his absolute power solidified, and now the Zen criminal trial may proceed to its inevitable culmination.

But wait.

Another political conundrum was also rearing its head and needed quick resolution before the Zen trial resumed. Looming over the global political landscape was the upcoming 2nd renewal of the secret CCP-Vatican pact. Neither party wanted to be ensnared in the uncomfortable dilemma of a roundly condemned conviction of Cardinal Zen complicating their negotiations. Clearly, Bergoglio’s Vatican would be twisted into a fortune cookie with a grim message: he who signs pact with partner who knives you in back is a fool or a knave. Bergoglio desperately needed to renew his secret agreement with Chairman Xi before the CCP slams the jailhouse door on Hong Kong’s beloved prince of the Catholic Church.

The Vatican and the CCP needed to resolve and execute the 2nd renewal of their secret deal before the probable Zen conviction. Neither President Xi nor Bergoglio wanted Cardinal Zen’s controversial prosecution to rain on their parade. So, on October 22, a mere four days before the resumption of the Cardinal Zen Hong Kong trial, the Vatican and CCP renewed the secret pact for the second time. The agreement still remains secret after 4 years.

The timing of the executed renewal begs the question: Did the Vatican diplomats demand that Zen be released in exchange for an executed agreement? If not, why not? Isn’t freedom for the most respected human rights activist in China, and coincidentally, a prince of the Catholic Church, a top priority in any negotiations with the CCP? Wasn’t this a perfect opportunity for the Vatican to test the good faith of its negotiating partner?

Throughout this papal regime, Bergoglio obsesses about the importance of “dialogue” with people, nations and other religions. Here’s a suggestion: Try this dialogue with Chairman Xi: ‘You want to renew the agreement- first release Joseph Zen from this unfair and illegal prosecution.’

It’s called The Art of the Deal.

Curiously, the merciful Bergoglio is not a fanboy of Cardinal Zen. Joseph Zen is a virulent opponent of the Bergoglio-Xi secret pact. He vigorously condemns the secret Vatican-China accord. Few know the communist party better than Cardinal Zen with his first hand experience of religious persecution by the CCP over the last 90 years. Zen blasted the Vatican’s secret deal as a “sell-out” and a “suicide pact.” Yet, the Vatican and Bergoglio repeatedly ignored his warning and refused to “dialogue” with Zen.

Recently, the press asked Francis about his stubborn silence over the CCP’s political persecution of Cardinal Zen and Zen’s opposition to the secret Vatican pact. Bergoglio’s stunningly dismissive remarks about an elderly and respected Chinese human rights activist are stupefying.  He commented to the press:

“Qualifying China as undemocratic, I do not identify with that, because it's such a complex country ... yes, it is true that there are things that seem undemocratic to us, that is true. Cardinal Zen is going to trial these days, I think. And he says what he feels, and you can see that there are limitations there. More than qualifying, because it is difficult, and I do wish to qualify, they are impressions, and I try to support the path of dialogue.”

Bergoglio’s jaw dropping statement that China is “not undemocratic” signifies either gross ignorance and incompetence or shockingly, an acquiescence of China’s brutal atheistic communist policy.

Is it any wonder that the Vatican insists on secrecy for the agreement? What are they hiding?

Despite nearly universal condemnation of the secret deal as catastrophic for religious freedom in China, the Vatican continues to deceive about the outcomes of the pact. The chief negotiator of the agreement, Secretary of State Cardinal Parolin told VaticanNews.va (October 22) that “since 2018, all bishops in the Catholic Church in China have been in full communion with the Communist government Peter’s Successor.” Yet, life in China for faithful Catholics is far more terrifying and brutal as noted by Gloria TV:

~Many underground bishops are not recognized by the CCP as heads of their dioceses.

~ Since 2018, there were only six episcopal appointments, two were already agreed before.

~Six more bishops have been mutually recognized.

~ The last episcopal consecration was in autumn 2021.

~The Chinese government has merged the 147 dioceses into 97.

~36 dioceses are without a  bishop.

The persecution of the Underground Church Bishops faithful to the Catholic Church remain in jail:

-   Xuanhua Bishop Augustine Cui Tai, 72 (disappeared since 2007).

-   Zhengding Bishop Julius Jia Zhiguo (arrested in August     2020, died in custody).

  • Xinxiang Bishop Joseph Zhang Weizhu, 55 (imprisoned in May 2021).

  • Wenzhou Bishop Peter Shao Zumin, 59, (arrested in April 2022).

  • Xiapu-Mindong Auxiliary Bishop Vincent Guo Xijin (under house arrest).

Countless Chinese underground Catholic priests who have refused to sign loyalty oaths to the CCP Patriotic Catholic Church have been arrested, tortured, threatened, and disappeared.

The terms of this disastrous pact remain unknown. Yet, the consequences do not. They are on full display as churches are bulldozed, priests arrested, laity forced to go deeper underground to practice their Catholic faith. Soon, China’s brave and revered son, 90 year old Cardinal Joseph Zen may disappear into China’s deadly prisons. The once great and thriving Hong Kong Catholic Church is no more. Xi Jinping, the Emperor for Life has crushed faith and freedom with his draconian laws and brutal crackdown. Fears abound that Hong Kong will soon lose its beloved spiritual leader.  Hong Kong is now under the boot of the Emperor Xi, the partner of Pope Francis.

This infernal secret pact with the devil reminds one of the Chinese proverb: “When the map is unrolled, the dagger is revealed.”
